Cat5 and Cat6 Installations || Fiber Optic || Design and Installation ||

Fitted to British Standard EN 50173 our structured cabling installations provide the backbone to a reliable network infrastructure. Having an efficient and well managed IT infrastructure has been proven to increase overall productivity from between 20 to 50%.

The term structured cabling system (sometimes called structured wiring system or SWS) refers to all of the cabling and components installed in a logical, hierarchical way. It's designed to be relatively independent of the computer (or telephone) network which uses it, so that either can be updated with a minimum of reworking to the cable plant.

Ethernet Cat5 and Cat5E installations

80% of current structured cabling installations use Cat5 or Cat5E Ethernet cable. This gives transfer speeds to the desk of up to 100mbps. We use only fire grade low smoke cable which meets ISO 11801 standards, so you can be sure of a professional and reliable installation backed up by our full and comprehensive guarantees.

Ethernet Cat6
Where faster transfer speeds are required Cat6 cable can provide 1000MBPS to the desk and will also ensure your business is fully future proved. Every installation is fully tested during and after installation to ensure continuity and is again backed up by our comprehensive warrantees.
Fibre optic

Where transfer speeds are vital fibre optic cable offers up the possibility of near infinite bandwidth and perfect immunity to noise. There are three types of fibre optic cable commonly used: single mode, multimode and plastic optical fibre (POF). Usually run as a backbone to your network or to connect adjoining buildings it is an ideal for long runs as it is robust and requires very little maintenance.

Design and installation

A correctly designed and installed network infrastructure will not only improve productivity within your organization but save your business money. Our design and installation process has been evolved from many years of experience in installing networking infrastructure for companies large and small and consists of the following steps;

  • Onsite project brief to discuss the client's requirements both now and into the future.
  • Site survey to plan and agree cable runs and cabinet locations along with data socket numbers and locations.
  • Design of network and submission of tender and timescales for agreement.
  • Installation of infrastructure and testing of connectivity.
  • Sign-off by customer once completely satisfied.
